ABOUT HANA

Hana is a registered psychologist, researcher and musician with a rich experience working with children and their families, adolescents, and adults from diverse cultural backgrounds. She worked as a school psychologist and a foster care mental health practitioner in the Czech Republic, a counsellor and music teacher/therapist in Peru, and participated in a Trans and gender diverse health service access research project based at the University of Melbourne. Hana is as a research associate of the Global Ayahuasca Project, a multidisciplinary research project based at the University of Melbourne.

Hana provides psychological treatment across the lifespan and has a particular interest in treating trauma or stressor related disorders, including post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), anxiety, depression, obsessive and compulsive disorder, gender dysphoria, challenging behaviour(s), and alcohol and drug use disorder. She also offers help with the integration of altered state of consciousness experiences induced naturally or as a result of the use of psychedelics.

Hana creates a safe and non-judgemental space for her clients to get in touch with their feelings, needs and aspirations, discover their inner potential and power, learn effective coping strategies that can contribute to their wellbeing, and maintain healthy relationships with others. She recognises that each person has their unique way of perceiving and interacting with the world around them, which is reflected in her holistic and integrative approach. She uses a range of evidence-based and trauma informed approaches and techniques depending on clients’ needs including Cognitive Behaviour Therapy, Mindfulness-based Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Analytical Psychotherapy, Internal Family Systems Therapy and Expressive Therapy, as well as relaxation techniques. Hana also provides psychological and behaviour assessments.

Hana completed a Master of Psychology degree in the Czech Republic, which included study programs in both the Netherlands and Colombia. She speaks Czech, Spanish and English fluently. Hana moved to Australia in2017. She enjoys singing, music, yoga, travelling, bush walking, camping, and spending time with her family and friends.
